Project Engineer
Xcel Mechanical Systems is one of the largest design-build mechanical contractors in California and one of the safest in the United States. Xcel Mechanical Systems has immediate openings for entry-level Project Engineers to support commercial HVAC & Plumbing engineering and construction projects across the company's Aerospace, Education, Entertainment, Hospitals and Transportation markets. The ideal candidate has interest or background in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. You will join Xcel Mechanical as it enters its 25th-year in business; a time in which our company is being recognized as one of the largest commercial mechanical and plumbing Design-Build contractors in California, and one of the safest in the United States.Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Assist our Project Management Team in the execution of large & complex commercial and industrial HVAC, Plumbing, and Process Piping construction projects Ensure accurate documentation to successfully track projects, including submittals, schedules, billings, RFI s (requests for information), change orders, project start-up and close-out (including timely processing of O&M s and as-built packages) Assist in tracking field installation Organize, file, and track all project coordination and correspondence Become familiar with different construction management software programs Position Objectives:
Projects consistently meet or exceed expected schedule and profit objectives Effective control of deliveries to coincide with schedules and progress billing Timely review, approval, and submission of RFI's, requests for change orders, and change orders Timeliness and accuracy of submittals, project turnover and start-up packages Proper documentation of all projects reflecting the flow of the project Maintain and grow customer satisfaction Desired Characteristics:
Strong work ethic, initiative and a can-do problem-solving attitude Excellent listener and communicator Must be proficient in Microsoft Office:
